If you are wondering how much gold I came home with, I panned out almost 3/4 of an ounce of gold in about 2 days. Great exercise, and quite profitable.

I haven't been back here in a while as I've been extremely busy with my web sites. Working looong hours trying to get them optimized properly, writing new content, submitting articles to the article directories, preparing email courses for downloading etc, etc, the list goes on. But a bright spot looms on my horizon.

Next month about this time my wife will be coming for a visit. I was supposed to move to Canada to be with her, but Canada wouldn't let me into the country. Why you ask? It seems that I am a criminal in the eyes of Canada. Starting way back in 1972 I had to kill a neighbors dog. Said dog jumped into my (then 11 month old) sons playpen on the front porch and snatched the kitten my son was playing with. It killed the kitten and then proceeded to attack my son, while still in the playpen.

Now, at the time I was just back from my second tour in Nam and being quite handy with firearms and other types of explosive items, I was able to do something about it. I just happened to finish assembling my weapon when the ruckus started on the porch. I was out target shooting that morning, got home and after cleaning my .45 I slammed a clip in it and ran outside to a sight I thought I had left behind me. There was blood and cat guts everywhere and my son bleeding pretty bad from the shoulder where the dog was biting him.

I reached in, grabbed the dog by the collar and yanked him up and out and flung him into the yard, where I proceeded to empty the clip into the dog. Needless to say I was arrested and charged with cruelty to animals. Can you believe that? It's true. Well to cut this short, the charges were dropped and the judge reamed out my neighbor for bringing such a frivolous case into her court and wasting both her's and the courts time. But the kicker is, that charge is still on my record and the Canadian Customs officer treated me like I was public enemy #1.

Did anyone care about the kitten the dog killed? NO! Did anyone care about my 11 month old son having to get over a dozen stiches to close his shoulder? NO! Do I care what Canada thinks? NO! My wife will be in Canada for another 10 months then she is moving down here so we can be together. She holds a degree in chemical engineering so I know she won't have any difficulty in finding work. But for now I will have to settle for a visit.

So, I must depart because I'm falling behind in my work. I'll be back.

Success in all you do,

Warren
http://www.articles-barn.com/
http://www.ebookbarnonline.com/

P.S. I'm taking several days next week to go out to my old haunts in the desert to the Rich Hill area in and around the Ghost Town of Stanton, AZ. That's off the hardtop about 10 or 12 miles between the towns of Congress and Yarnell Arizona.

Yes, I've noticed the similarity between my last name and the town Yarnell. That's because the town was named after one of my ancestors. His name was Harrison Lee Yarnell, who discovered gold in the mid late 1800's on the mountain top where Yarnell now sits, 10 miles north of Congress on State Route 89. All of which is about 70 miles (40 Kilometers) NNW of Phoenix. High on top of the Weaver Mountains at about 5200' elevation. It's a very small community (about 3000 people) mostly retired folk. If you ever drive through it, don't blink because you'll miss it. Heck, when you cross the street and look both ways, you've seen it all.

I have my Wedding Album page back up on my site. If you are interested in viewing it you can click http://www.ebookbarnonline.com/philippines/OWA/index.html. If you are on dial-up, please allow time for the page to load. I've cropped myself senseless to keep the images small but there are a lot of them. Also I made all the headings into images so you can view the font as I wanted it displayed. I doubt if very many people have the Flat Earth Scribe font installed on their computer. Hope you enjoy it.

I have to run my neighbor to the hospital, but I'll be back this evening. Best to you.

Warren
warren@ebookbarnonline.com
http://www.ebookbarnonline.com/

Home At Last

Greetings

This is the first time I have done anything like this, so I hope the world bears with me. My name is Warren and I am a retired, disabled 57 year old Viet Nam vet. To keep myself busy, I bought a computer, taught myself HTML and started making web pages, after my physical condition deteriorated to the point that I had to stop gold mining.

Early last year I met my future wife, Mercedes while I was visiting Canada. It was instant love. She caught my eye on the subway when I gave her my seat. We chatted, parted and on the next day who do I run into? Yep. She was going to the mall and she allowed me to accompany her. We spent a glorious afternoon, shopping, talking and getting to know one another.

Eventually I had to return home, but not after securing name number and all the pertinent info I needed to stay in touch with her. After a whirlwind romance I asked her to marry me and she said yes.

We made plans to meet in Manila on the 19th of March 2007. We were married 5 days later in a simple ceremony with her sister and her husband and a few close friends in attendence. Afterwards we went to Barangue for a week. Then we flew south to the island of Pasay and spend the next 10 months with her family in Passi City, where I became a sugarcane plantation handyman, worker and all around gofer.

Ahhh, the Philippines. How I love you. My first trip to those beautiful islands was in 1969 as a bug eyed 18 year old, away from home for the first time. As I walked the streets of Olongapo [where the female/male ratio was any where between 200 to 300 women for every GI in town, and there were thousands of us GI's], I was flabbergasted at the town. Wall to wall bars and cathouses. Incredible.

I can't believe how late it is. I'm going to have to get some sleep. I'll carry on tomorrow. Night.

Warren Yarnall
http://www.ebookbarnonline.com/
